Advait Energy Transition Limited has begun construction of its first standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project — a 50 MW / 100 MWh facility — at Radhanpur in Gujarat. The project is being developed for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) after being secured through competitive bidding.

Work commenced following a Bhoomi Pujan ceremony at the project site, marking the company’s entry into utility-scale energy storage execution.

The project will be implemented under a Build–Own–Operate (BOO) model, where the developer will finance, build, and operate the system while making storage capacity available to GUVNL on an on-demand basis for charging and discharging. The discovered tariff for the awarded capacity is ₹226,000 per MW per month.

The BESS installation is part of GUVNL’s broader plan to deploy 500 MW / 1 GWh of standalone storage, supported by viability gap funding, to strengthen grid reliability and support higher renewable energy integration.
