Kolkata-based BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 solar module manufacturer Vikram Solar Limited has secured a 378.75 MW solar module supply order under a project tendered by NTPC Green Energy Limited (INGEL), the green energy arm of NTPC Limited.

The modules will be deployed near Nakhatrana in Gujarat’s Kutch district as part of the 600 MW solar power project being developed by Indian Oil NTPC Green Energy Private Limited — a joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation Limited and NTPC Green Energy Limited. The order marks Vikram Solar’s first major collaboration with INGEL and strengthens its footprint in Gujarat, one of India’s fastest-growing renewable energy hubs.
Under the agreement, the Kolkata-headquartered manufacturer will supply its advanced N-TOPCon modules, designed to deliver higher efficiency, improved reliability and enhanced energy yield for large-scale utility installations. Supplies are scheduled to commence in FY26.
Industry observers note that Gujarat continues to emerge as a strategic epicentre for India’s clean energy expansion, supported by progressive state policies, strong transmission infrastructure and large-scale solar park development. The Kutch region, in particular, has become a hotspot for mega renewable projects due to its vast land availability and high solar irradiance.
Commenting on the development, Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikram Solar, said the order represents a key milestone for the company as it begins its first engagement with INGEL on a strategically significant project. He highlighted the company’s confidence in delivering high-performance N-TOPCon technology backed by strong manufacturing capabilities and execution certainty.
Headquartered in Kolkata, Vikram Solar is among India’s leading photovoltaic module manufacturers with a cumulative production capacity of 9.5 GW. The company exports to 39 countries and has built a strong domestic presence through an extensive distributor and integrator network. It has also been recognised as a ‘Top Performer’ in PVEL’s PV Module Reliability Scorecard and features in BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 solar module manufacturer list for eight consecutive quarters.
The latest order comes at a time when India is accelerating its push towards its ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, with solar energy expected to contribute a major share. Projects such as the INGEL-backed Kutch installation underline the growing collaboration between public sector undertakings and domestic manufacturers in strengthening the country’s clean energy ecosystem.
