Bluebird Solar launches 1.3 GW AI-driven PV plant in Greater Noida, raising total capacity to 2.5 GW for ALMM- and DCR-compliant projects.

Delhi-based Bluebird Solar has begun commercial operations at its 1.3 GW solar PV module manufacturing Unit 3 in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, taking its total module manufacturing capacity to 2.5 GW annually.
The company said the new facility will be equipped with fully automated production lines and advanced quality control systems, designed to manufacture high-efficiency n-type TOPCon PV modules and Mono PERC panels. Bluebird Solar added that the plant will produce ALMM-compliant products, certified by both the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), ensuring adherence to global quality and safety benchmarks.
This expansion strengthens Bluebird Solar’s footprint in India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem and aligns with the government’s “Made in India” initiative. The company currently has 819 MW of module capacity approved under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, enabling it to supply modules for government-backed projects and tenders.
The Greater Noida facility is expected to support projects under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) category, which mandates the use of locally manufactured solar cells and modules for select government schemes. By integrating AI-driven automation and stringent quality protocols, the plant aims to meet rising demand from central and state solar programs while enhancing production efficiency.
Bluebird Solar, with over four decades of experience in the sector, manufactures polycrystalline, mono PERC, half-cut, and TOPCon modules. Beyond manufacturing, the company provides turnkey EPC services, commercial and industrial solar solutions, rooftop installations, and government liaisoning support.
India’s solar manufacturing sector has accelerated amid initiatives like ALMM, DCR mandates, and production-linked incentives aimed at reducing import dependence and boosting domestic supply. With the new facility, Bluebird Solar’s total module capacity now at 2.5 GW per year, positioning the company to serve utility-scale, commercial & industrial, and rooftop solar segments across the country’s expanding renewable energy market.
